Earth Day

Volunteer Opportunity

To celebrate Earth Day, the Friends are going to join the LPO Refuge staff for a morning of clean up along the refuge roads on Wednesday April 20th. Please meet at Headquarters dressed for work at 8 am. It's more fun than its sounds. You never know what you might find. Chili lunch will follow with the staff at Headquarters. Milkweed Planting

Want to learn more about Monarch Butterflies and the importance of milkweed while helping out the Monarchs. Come plant Milkweed with us. Milkweed planting at the Kaniksu unit. April 23rd  9:30 -2:30. Fall Hike

Enjoy fall colors at the Refuge! Meet at the Refuge Headquarters at 9:00 am on October 1st for the fall hike led by Dan Price. The hike will be on the Schumaker Meadow and Prospect Creek; about 6 miles round trip, and easy to moderately difficult. Schumaker Meadow is one of the prettiest spots on the refuge.
