6th Annual Blue Goose Chase–Family Bike Ride
Bring your bicycles, friends and family to the Little Pend Oreille NWR for a 10.5 mile bike ride featuring the refuge auto tour route. The tour features interpretive stops that inform you about the history, wildlife, and management of the Refuge. The ride will be held Saturday July 20th. Please arrive at Headquarters at 8:30 am. Annual Friends Winter Retreat–January 25th
Saturday January 25th is our Annual Board and Membership Retreat and Fun in the Snow Day! All Friends of the LPONWR and other interested folks are invited! Ecology Day–Canceled
Canceled--Please clean up after yourselves as you enjoy the refuge. To celebrate Earth Day, the Friends are going to join the LPO Refuge staff for a morning of clean up along the refuge roads on Saturday April 18th. Winter Bird Count–January 15th, 2022
Please meet at the Kiosk at Headquarters at 8:30 am. The Friends will be running the bird count this year. There will be driving routes as well as walking, snowshoeing or skiing (weather depending). We generally bird until about noon. We will ask groups to leave their forms in a box at the Kiosk no later than 12:30. This is the Annual Butterfly Count on the Refuge. On July 2nd, we will meet at the Refuge Headquarters at 8:45 am. We will divide into groups and start counting by 9:00.
