Winter Bird Count–POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

February 3 @ 9:00 am - 2:00 pm

Free

Due to the Government shutdown, we will be postponing the winter bird count.  During the shutdown, our group is not able to use any of the facilities on the refuge, although we could still walk around and count birds. It would not be possible for us to do the event without a place to organize and warm up afterwards.

Please watch this space or our Facebook page for the new date.

Any questions about the count or the shutdown, please email Dan Price, president of the Friends.

Song Sparrow on the Bull Rush
By Patricia Ediger

Please join us for the Annual Winter Bird Count at the Refuge on January 5th. We will be meeting at 9:00 am at the Refuge Headquarters. When everyone has arrived we will divide into teams to cover as many areas as possible. A warm soup lunch is provided every year by the Refuge staff after the count. Friends can bring other treats to contribute. Bring your binoculars and dress warmly, as we will be outside all morning. Bring your skis and/or snowshoes if you wish, although there are also walking and driving loops available.

Call the Refuge for more info—684.8384, Monday – Friday
