Winter Bird Count–January 15th, 2022

January 15 @ 8:30 am - 12:30 pm

Free

Please meet at the Kiosk at Headquarters at 8:30 am.

The Friends will be running the bird count this year. There will be driving routes as well as walking, snowshoeing or skiing (weather depending). We generally bird until about noon. We will ask groups to leave their forms in a box at the Kiosk no later than 12:30. This is a Refuge specific count and is not part of the Audubon winter bird count. If you are new to birding come on out. We will have a good birder in every group to help any beginners. It’s also a good way to enjoy the Refuge in winter.

Dress for the season and bring your own water and snacks. The vault restroom will be open for use.

The address of the Refuge Headquarters is 1230 Bear Creek Rd, Colville, WA 99114.

Per Covid protocols we ask that when in vehicles please be with your family or social pod.  Masking is strongly encouraged outside when social distancing cannot be met (should not be an issue on a large refuge).

If you have any questions, please email Dan Price at bigdan65@yahoo.com

Hope to see you at the first Friends event in a long time!
